Talking About UUCT’s Endowment

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Tallahassee is a congregation blessed with an endowment. We are currently making some demands on it to support the annual budget. That fact has encouraged a broader discussion about the possible uses of the endowment. In the fall and winter, two discussions brought more than thirty people together talk about UUCT’s endowment.

You can enlarge the circle on Saturday, January 21st at 10:00 a.m. at UUCT when Robin Gray and Rev. Holly will lead another discussion. Please register by January 19th by contacting Robin (robingray021@gmail.com). You will receive more information just prior to the meeting. In the meantime, think about the questions below and prepare to exchange ideas in thoughtful deliberation.

How generous should we be with the income on investments from our forebears? How should we view the endowment within our commitment to anti-racism and anti-oppression? Can the endowment extend our role in the work of justice in our community? Will we protect the endowment with our own gifts to the annual budget and the endowment?
