Food for Thought – Benefits of an Anti-Inflammatory Diet and June Potluck

Come join the Food for Thought – a Healthier You, a Healthier Planet group on Sunday, May 7th at 12:30 PM in Room L, when Leslie Wurster will lead a discussion about an anti-inflammatory diet and how it can help alleviate some auto-immune diseases.  Learn the basics of an anti-inflammatory diet and the difference between the normal functioning of the body’s immune system and when the immune system is dysregulated due to genetic predisposition and/or high inflammatory diets.  Did you know that a high inflammatory diet can impact various body systems: heart, brain, nerves, muscles, skin, eyes, joints, lungs, kidneys, glands, digestive system and blood vessels?

Bring your lunch or grab a snack before attending. For more information, contact Linda Oaksford at foodforthought@uutallahassee.org.

We will also be hosting a Churchwide Plant-based Potluck. Come join the Food for Thought ~ a Healthier You, a Healthier Planet group on Sunday, June 4th on the veranda, for a plant-based potluck. Plant-based dishes have NO animal products, which means no meat, poultry, fish, dairy or eggs. If you’d like to come, but don’t know what to bring, just search out some dishes you like to make, but put the word, “vegan” before it, or you can contact Linda Oaksford at foodforthought@uutallahassee.org.

Please let us know what dish you plan to bring, by signing up on the google docs spreadsheet at:
