1. UUCT staff and RE volunteers may not communicate 1:1 with children or youth on any platform. Communication for children (infant-5th grade) should always be through their parents or caregivers. Communication for youth (6th-12th grade) should primarily be through the group text, or with two adults with a youth in a group message if needed. UUCT staff and volunteers have been instructed not to respond to 1:1 private messages from children or youth.

2. Children participating in online RE should have a designated adult within eyesight and earshot at all times for technical support and/or behavior management.

3. Anyone participating in online events must be clothed at least as much as they would be for in-person church, though of course we expect significantly more casual dress than usual.

4. All Zoom meetings for children and youth will utilize the waiting room and/or password features. Participants with unfamiliar screen names will be vetted before being allowed to enter the meeting for safety.

5. In the event of disruptive or inappropriate behavior, steps of action for children are as follows:
-First, the participant will receive a verbal warning and/or redirection.
-Second, the participant will be asked to have their designated adult sit with them on-screen for the remainder of the meeting.
-Third, the participant will be asked to leave the meeting, and the DRE will follow up with their parent/guardian after.

6. In the event of disruptive or inappropriate behavior, steps of action for youth are as follows:
-First, the participant will receive a verbal warning and/or redirection.
-Second, the participant will be reminded of the group covenant and invited to return to covenant.
-Third, the participant will be asked to leave the meeting, and the DRE will follow up with their parent/guardian after.
