UUA General Assembly Delegates Needed
General Assembly (GA) is the annual meeting of our Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA). Participants worship, witness, learn, connect, and make policy for the Association through democratic process. Anyone may attend; congregations must certify annually to have voting delegates.

UUCT receives 3 member delegate credentials for the UU General Assembly (GA). These delegates are able to vote on behalf of UUCT at plenary sessions and in the election for the UUA Board and other positions. Once interested parties have submitted their names for consideration the 3 member delegates will be chosen by the Executive Board.
If you are interested in being a member delegate for UUCT contact Rev. William Levwood. Those attending GA will be prioritized as potential delegates. However, you do not have to register for GA to be able to vote as a delegate in the election. If UUCT hasn’t filled its 3 member delegate slots with GA attendees, you can be considered as a potential member delegate for the sole purpose of voting in the election. This year’s election for the UUA is particularly important.
If you would like to attend GA, which is all online this year, and need financial assistance to register, contact Rev. William Levwood.
Meal Prep Volunteers Needed
By Janet Temkin
If you and your family are looking for a way to give back to our community, the Kearney Center can use your help.
UUCT has signed up to prep and serve lunches on the first, third and fourth Tuesday of each month at the Kearney Center. We will be assisting with dinners on the second Monday of each month. 4-5 volunteers are needed at each mealtime.
Meal prep is a fun way to connect with others and help our vulnerable homeless population at the same time.
You can easily sign up to volunteer using the link below:
Kathryn Schroeder is now our UUCT coordinator. Please email Kathryn at email@example.com for more information.
Covid Guidelines Review in June at UUCT
By Steve Urse
The Covid Reopening Task Force (TF) will be revisiting current guidelines and practices that can be found on the UUCT website at https://www.uutallahassee.org/coronavirus-alternative-church-plans/
Covid cases are decreasing while vaccination numbers increase. The Connie Sauer-Adams Memorial Service was an excellent opportunity to offer an in-person experience in the sanctuary, masked and with a six-foot separation between individuals, couples and families as well as broadcasting to the overflow in Room L and offering zoom streaming to those at home and on the veranda.
Currently some groups are meeting on the veranda (socially distanced striving for six feet) and masked except when eating or drinking.
At the June 23 TF meeting we will analyze the survey results and the comments from the June 13 meeting.
Some decisions considered will be:
1) In July will we have a live plus zoomed Sunday Service (masked and socially distanced like Connie’s Memorial Service)?
2) Will we grant the request from the Old Guy’s Lunch Bunch and others to meet socially distanced without masks for those who want to do that but allowing all who want to be masked to feel comfortable to do so?
3) Should we learn who is vaccinated and who is not?
The Covid Task Force consists of Phil Kiracofe, chair, plus Janet Temkin and Steve Urse serving as members, Rev. William Levwood as an ex officio member and Bonnie Abellera, VP for Management, is a consultant.
Volunteer Opportunity – Auditor
UUCT’s Manual of Policies and Procedures calls for an ad-hoc audit committee to perform an internal review of our financial accounts and procedures every two years. The board is looking for volunteers to do this important work. A financial background is not necessary and there is a checklist from the UUA to help ensure a thorough review. While this is a significant project, prior volunteer auditors tell us that it can be done by one person, or alternatively a small committee, within a couple of weeks. Members performing these audits cannot be serving on the finance committee or serving in positions directly related to UUCT’s finances.
So are you detail oriented and willing to review our financial records and interview our treasurers? If so, lease let the board know – email firstname.lastname@example.org.
