The University Unitarian Universalists is a group for college students attending Florida State University, Florida A&M University, Tallahassee Community College.

We are committed to

  • providing a liberal religious presence in the campus community;
  • providing an arena for the free exploration of ideas;
  • challenging ideas that are oppressive, discriminatory and exploitative;
  • making the natural world a more beautiful place in which to live; and
  • serving the community at the level of the individual.

We respect

  • a wide range of lifestyle choices;
  • diversity of ethnicity, nationality and race;
  • a multiplicity of religious orientations and political affiliations; and
  • people of every age, ability, gender and sexual orientation.

We are guided by

  • the quest for truth;
  • the use of reason;
  • the need for freedom;
  • the ethic of tolerance and affirmation;
  • the bond of friendship; and
  • the goal of world community.

We are a vibrant part of the Tallahassee UU community and in the past have had:

  • monthly social justice action meetings;
  • weekly coffee & discussion hour;
  • other opportunities to socialize and make friends;
  • service projects to benefit our community; and
  • weekend retreats to relax and strengthen as a group;

When our Intern Minister, Greg DuBow, arrives in September, he will be developing new directions for our Campus Ministry. Until then, come to Sunday services and church activities to make new friends at UUCT. There will be a Young Adult (18-35 years old) table at every Second Sunday Potluck.
