Volunteers from the congregation prepare and serve dinner to 175 to 200 people at The Shelter on the second Monday of each month. Plate offerings from the congregation provide funds to buy the food for cooks.

On the second Sunday of the month, a volunteer who has purchased all the groceries needed to prepare the meal delivers them to the four or five cooks. Each cook prepares casseroles in their homes and deliver them to The Shelter. Another group of volunteers arrive at The Shelter that evening to serve the meal to those in need. The serving takes approximately one hour.
