A Welcoming Congregation of the Unitarian Universalist Association

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Tallahassee is open to the needs and concerns of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered persons. Through our Welcoming Congregation Committee, we work with and support a variety of local gay and lesbian organizations, including the Family Tree. We participate in Gay Pride events, and support the Tallahassee PFLAG (Parents Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays). The Welcoming Congregation Committee also periodically plans and conducts Sunday worship services to keep these important topics visible to the entire congregation.

The designation of Welcoming Congregation represents the fact that the congregation, over a period of years, has educated itself about LGBT issues, has involved LGBT members and non-members in a variety of cultural competency workshops, and made an enduring commitment to continued support of the LGBT community within and outside our church.
